Martin Harris is Melbourne based, self-taught artist. He creates storybook fantasy lands whose miniature scenes of whimsy are painted with the most awe-inspiring detail in soft-hued watercolors. Animals, critters and creatures animate colourful worlds of gentle humor. A collector of vintage toys, Martin also has an intuitive interest in the symbolism of Tarot.
Martin's Inspirations for his artwork include: animals and nature, childhood memories, vintage toys and books, 1960s TV shows such as “Pinky and Perky”, “Thunderbirds” and “Lost In Space”.
Martin has illustrated for Lonely Planet travel books and a number of Australian media publications, and is working towards publishing children’s picture books. He has recently showed new artworks at the Kaiju Monster Invasion Show at Art Basel, Miami Beach.
